With the support of the programme, a polyhouse was constructed on his farm. Government intervention, facilitated by the programme, provided him with essential agricultural tools, a water storage tank, and fruit plants. Additionally, Devendra received training in apiculture and established a vermi pit for organic farming.

Through the programme, Mr. Ravi received seeds for a variety of vegetables such as spinach, radish, mustard, okra, and tomato. A polyhouse was constructed on his small plot of land, significantly boosting his agricultural productivity. Capacity-building sessions on vegetable cultivation and organic farming equipped him with essential skills. Dinesh, due to his physical impairment and lack of an assistive device, had restricted mobility and was completely dependent on his family for all tasks. Shy and withdrawn, he seldom engaged with the community, further isolating himself.

The turning point came when the Atmanirbhar Shamoodhay programme, implemented by Sanjeevani Vikas Evam Jan Kalyan Samiti & CBM, identified Dinesh’s household during a baseline survey. Initially hesitant, the family was eventually convinced by the persistent efforts and support of the programme team.

The programme provided Dinesh with a tricycle, significantly enhancing his mobility. He received seeds of various vegetables, including spinach, radish, mustard, bitter gourd, carrot, capsicum, and tomato, along with the construction of a polyhouse on his farm. Capacity-building sessions on vegetable cultivation and organic farming equipped Dinesh with essential agricultural skills. Through the programme’s liaison with the government, he also received an irrigation pump and was issued a disability certificate and a UDID card.

The impact of the programme was nothing short of remarkable. Dinesh gained confidence and became an active member of the OPD and FPO. He took a loan to enhance his shop, which he now operates independently, selling vegetables from his

Struggling under the weight of dire economic conditions, the family relied solely on Sita Devi’s daily wage labor. Ostracized by the community, they faced immense challenges and were unaware of any government schemes or programmes that could provide support.

During a baseline survey, the project team of the Atmanirbhar Shamoodhay programme, implemented by Sanjeevani Vikas Evam Jan Kalyan Samiti & CBM, discovered Sita Devi’s household through the local Anganwadi worker. Initially reluctant to join the programme, regular persuasion and support from the project team gradually won the family’s confidence.

The programme provided Sita Devi with seeds for vegetables such as spinach, radish, mustard, okra, and tomato. A unit for mushroom cultivation was established, marking a significant turning point for the family’s economic prospects. With training in mushroom production and value addition, Sita Devi gained new skills that became crucial for her family’s survival.

The impact of the programme was transformative. Sita Devi’s newfound confidence saw her enroll in the widow pension scheme and the Kisan Samman Nidhi programme, providing much-needed financial support. Mushroom production quickly became the backbone of the household economy, with Sita Devi successfully marketing her produce in nearby markets. Her reputation as a skilled mushroom grower spread, earning her respect and recognition within the community and beyond.

She further aspired to create by-products from mushrooms and was trained by the programme team to do so. Supported by the programme, she went on exposure visits to understand value addition processes, which bolstered her confidence. Sita Devi also joined the inclusive group initiated by the programme, fostering a sense of belonging and community support.
